We’re looking for a talented, flexible and enthusiastic copywriter to join our creative team.

bbd is a dynamic full service agency with ambitions for growth and client accounts that span the globe. We are on the lookout for a creative copywriter to join our close-knit creative team, working alongside designers and art directors, animators and editors, planners and strategists, coders and UX specialists, client liaisons and project managers to deliver work across the full spectrum of print and digital. Our buzzing open plan office is based right in the centre of Bournemouth, just 10 minutes’ walk from the beach.

This is the perfect role for…

Someone either with a proven agency background, or with at least a couple of years’ marketing copywriting experience working across different brands and sectors is ESSENTIAL. A copywriting qualification would be a bonus, however a proven way with words, accuracy, attention to detail, creativity and enthusiasm are what we’re looking for.

You won’t be afraid to get stuck in with creative concepts, witty one-liners, SEO-optimised page content, strict character counts, behavioural nudges, and plenty of different brand styles and TOVs. Whether you’re writing a 3 minute voiceover video script for a product launch, or 15 second social posts for luxury holiday homes, you’ll be ready to hit the ground running.

You’ll be comfortable taking, questioning and interpreting briefs, researching and disseminating lots of potentially complex information, then either working solo or as part of a project team to generate ideas, finesse, address feedback and deliver your best work – on time and on budget.

Due to the nature of agency life, you’ll be working closely with others, so good people skills are a must, whether that’s working with your bbd team mates, handling revisions or presenting a winning pitch to a client. We have a bold and brilliant culture which means there is plenty of opportunity to get involved with all sorts of events like epic summer parties, wine tastings, open mic nights and bbd bake-offs.

What we expect from you

The role of the copywriter can vary from day to day. Some days you’ll be spending all your time on one big project, other days you could be hopping between an array of jobs that need doing. Whatever the challenge, you’ll give it a go with confidence, asking for help if you need it, and taking responsibility for the (epic) work you’ll create.

Generally, your key responsibilities will include: 

  • Working on client briefs 
  • Researching and working solo or as a team to develop creative ideas and concepts
  • Researching and writing blogs or case studies for the bbd webpage
  • Proof-reading and editing work across the business
  • Creating and publishing content for the bbd instagram channel
