‘Saving Lives at Sea’ is a popular series on BBC2 that documents the lifesaving work of the RNLI, with real stories of rescues. To spread the word and encourage those who had seen proof of the RNLI’s work to engage more actively with the charity, the RNLI asked bbd to implement a campaign that would support the series. The main challenge was that assets belonged to the BBC and messaging could not suggest any partnership.
bbd designed a suite of printed brochures, videos, posters and social assets to coincide with the BBC series. These encouraged viewers to find out more about the work of the RNLI, submit their contact details, and possibly explore the option of volunteering, fundraising, or otherwise engaging with the charity.
