I’ve recently joined Bright Blue Day as a Web Content Assistant — and as my first experience in the agency world, I couldn’t be happier to be here.
My background isn’t the most typical for agency life. For a big part of my life, I worked in customer service, mainly in hospitality, including hotels, restaurants and bars.
I’m originally from an island in the south of Brazil, affectionately known as “Floripa”. As a tourist destination, hospitality plays a huge role in the local economy — it’s always been part of my day-to-day.
Academically, I have a degree in Food Science and Technology. During my studies, I focused on microbiology — and yes, I do have a favourite bacterium: Escherichia coli. After graduating, I spent some time working in a food analysis laboratory before deciding to switch things up.
In 2019, I made the decision to leave Brazil for the first time and moved to Dublin for a two-year exchange in the Emerald Isle. It wasn’t exactly the typical experience — just a few months in, the COVID-19 pandemic hit. But despite that, it was a life-changing experience that really opened my eyes to the world.
Two years ago, I moved to England to start a new chapter.
A little bit about me
I’m a big fan of cats, tattoos and jiu-jitsu. I have a 14-year-old cat who’s still back in Brazil with my mum (which is definitely the hardest part of living abroad). I also have around 15 tattoos — most of them with a story behind them.
And finally, jiu-jitsu is a huge part of my life. I stepped onto the mat 15 years ago and never really left. Three years ago, I earned my black belt. I regularly compete and try to encourage more girls and women to learn self-defence and build confidence.
I’m really excited to be part of the bbd team and can’t wait to see what’s ahead!
