From University to Agency Life

The Journey So Far...

Hi, I’m Grace, the newest addition to the Client Services team here at bbd, joining as an Account Executive during my placement year.

I am currently studying Marketing Communications with Advertising at Bournemouth University, and have just completed my second year. As part of my degree, I’m spending a year in industry, and I couldn’t think of a better place to dive headfirst into agency life, and kickstart my career.

Marketing has always stood out to me as a space where creativity meets strategy, and after reading Hegarty on Creativity: There Are No Rules, I felt even more inspired to pursue a career in the industry. At university, I’ve taken every opportunity to explore that passion, most recently as President of the Marketing Society. It was a highlight to lead a team, organise events, and build connections with industry professionals.

A Little Bit About Me

Outside of work and Uni, I’m a big F1 fan, (currently maintaining a very comfortable lead in my fantasy league), and after attending two Silverstone Grands Prix, Japan is next on my bucket list. I also love dogs, cooking, reading, and have recently started playing pickleball (so far skill levels are low but enthusiasm is high). 

Having grown up far from the coast, living just ten minutes from the beach now feels like a permanent holiday, and I'm really trying to not take it for granted.

Looking ahead

Over the next year, I am hoping to soak up as much as I can, learn from the best, and experience all that agency life has to offer. I have already started to get stuck in, and I can’t wait to see what’s to come!
