Hi, I’m Ines! (pronounced ee-nes)
I am Portuguese mixed with Mozambican, Greek and Indian (yes, my ancestry map looks very colourful) but I’ve been calling Bournemouth my home since 2007.
I was born and raised in sunny Cascais, a coastal town about 15min drive from the capital Lisbon. Bournemouth was the closest match I could find to home, so the decision to move here was easy. My checklist was a beach, an airport with direct flights to Portugal and tolerable weather. All ticked!
What I didn’t anticipate however is that the very Portuguese feeling ‘saudade’ would never ever leave me. When I’m here I miss it there, and when I’m there I miss it here.
Being an Executive Assistant is exactly what you’d think it’s like:crazy! Every single day feels like I’m in a new episode of ‘The Apprentice’, but I wouldn’t have it any other way.
A lot of effort goes into being everyone’s go-to but luckily, I like a good spreadsheet and I’m obsessed with staying organised and making everyone’s life easier. It only felt natural to make a living out of it!
When I’m not working, I love to have my family and friends over (any excuse to get the cheese and wine out!) and travel the world with my family.
Over the last few years, I’ve become what I always feared: a ‘soccer mum’ (minus the minivan….and the soccer!). I now spend a fair amount of my free time at cheerleading practice with my daughter and American football tournaments with my son.
I was after a company with great culture and one that really looked after their own.
Also, I come from a very big family, and chaos runs in my blood!
Somehow, bbd seemed to have just the right amount of chaos so I figured I would fit right into this big crazy family. And if my first few days are anything to go by, I was not wrong!
3 days into my new role, we had our infamous summer party! And oh man… What an experience! I don’t think I have quite managed to digest the experience yet. But EPIC is the first word that comes to mind.
This was the perfect way of breaking the ice and getting to know everyone. Can’t wait for the Christmas party!
Some things about me:
- I am child number 6 of 11 (And yes, I very much have middle child syndrome) We all get along really well and my family is EVERYTHING to me!
- True crime is a bit of an obsession! But so are flamingos, so I guess I’m not that dark right?
- I love to bake and I am definitely a feeder!
- I have a degree in Events Management and I do love to throw a good party!
