FROM WHITE-LABEL MANUFACTURER TO DESIRABLE BRAND

Pittards had been making leather goods for some of the
world’s best-loved luxury and sporting brands for almost 200 years — even counting the royal family among their customer base. However, as a white label manufacturer their name was pretty much unknown to consumers – despite boasting second to none design and manufacturing expertise.

When they felt it was time to launch as an own-label brand, Pittards came to bbd. Getting attention and standing out in this fiercely competitive sector would be a challenge. We needed to make the Pittards brand mean something for today.

Our chosen philosophy? Everyday doesn’t have to mean ordinary. Quality materials and contemporary design creates objects that are a pleasure to own and a joy to use. They make every day that little bit better.

We used this insight to build a creative platform to reset expectations, as well as identifying a key audience of smart professionals. These people are busy enjoying a thoroughly modern lifestyle, surrounding themselves with things that make their day easier – whilst having little tolerance for clutter.

They’ll actively seek out the new, but aren’t defined by the latest fashion. They don’t need to show off what they’ve found, but like it when others notice. Pittards was perfectly placed to make everyday connections with them.
 

Whatever you carry, carry it well

It’s not about fast fashion. It’s not about following the masses. It’s about standing out in a crowd with confidence. With this in mind, we developed the “Whatever you carry, carry it well” campaign with Pittards.

We delivered fresh new photography, content creation services and a content calendar for regular social media posting across Facebook, Twitter and Instagram. This repositioned Pittard’s as an aspirational rather than a traditional brand – introducing their product lines to a younger,  more fashion-savvy market.
 

Everyday Extraordinary

A ‘capsule’ collection aimed at the active and discerning ‘everyday carry’ urbanite. Our creative presented the collection as not only objects of desire and unbeatable quality, but tools built to perform for the everyday.

Launched through a pop-up in London’s Soho, the story was brought to life through digital and social channels with press and point of sale support.

A platform for conversion

With the launch of their own product line, Pittards required an ecommerce solution that would match their ambition. The bar was set high, to the tune of over half a million pounds in annual sales.

In order to deliver on this aspiration, we reviewed available options and landed on the open-source ecommerce platform Magento. Our final product seamlessly integrated with Pittard’s existing infrastructure and stock control system.
